More Than Enough Stuff

I'm in the midst of moving my "stuff". Several thoughts leap to mind:

- I have too much "stuff".
- All of my "stuff" is dusty.
- It's hard to look at this pile of "stuff" and imagine how it came to be.
- A lot of my "stuff" will be in the trash soon.
- I have sworn off buying more "stuff".
- "Stuff" is wildly overrated.

You just don't know how much crap you have until you try to box it and move it. Ugh.

More later.

I know this feeling too well from our recent move, although to be honest most of the stuff wasn't mine, it was the OH's.

The dust thing is embarrassing - I was horrified when the removal men moved our bookcases and there were clouds of it, but there are places that are very hard to reach once you've got all your belongings in place. I was determined to not let the same thing happen in the new place, but complacency has set in and I imagine dust is gathering behind my books.

For me, the worst is when you happen upon things that other people gave you that you would never in a million years buy for yourself, and you'd love to throw them out, but you can't because it was a gift, and the giver would one day notice it's gone. My mother-in-law constantly gives me junk...and I have no idea what to do with it. I hide it in closets and it resurfaces when I move. Ugh!
