Kardashians Beat Draper

How can it be?

A million more people tuned in to watch Khloe Kardashian marry her future ex-husband than tuned in to watch the season finale of 'Mad Men'.

WHAT is WRONG with you people?

I consistently stay hugely disappointed in the general public.

It doesn't surprise me I'm afraid.

Most people don't like anything remotely challenging that might require them to think.

I love Mad Men. The things I love about it are probably the very things that make it inaccessible to most people. I love the slow pace, that in terms of modern television, very little action happens in each episode. Compared with, for example, 24 or Prison Break where every few minutes something major happens, this is very subtle.

On a more shallow note, I love the clothes, the homes and Don Draper too.

We have only had the first two seasons over here so I still have the third one to come.

The Kardashians have only just entered my radar. I still don't understand what the point of any of them is, or which one is which, but I do find the spelling of all the names with a K particularly awful.

There is no point to the Kardashians. It's another group of spoiled brats now famous for being famous. Kim has this huge ass that they've figured out how to pedal to us as something special, but in my book, it's still just a fat ass.

I also love Mad Men for many of the same reasons you do. I love the brief but meaningful dialogue. The writing is so well done. And I love that every character has at least one fatal flaw.

The sets, wardrobes and styles are all iconic. It makes me mindful of the missing glamour in today's working world.

I love how today's fashion trends are being influenced by this one little show. Neiman Marcus has done a whole tribute to the style this fall, and Brooks Brother has specially created a 'Mad Men' suit for men. There are Mad Men parties being thrown, where early 60s fashion is proper attire. It's truly become a cult following.

We just finished Season 3 here. It ended fabulously. *no spoilers* The way they handled the Kennedy assassination in the backdrop of the story was brilliant. Kudos to the writers.

Can't wait for Season 4.
